Michael presented Sir Van Morrison with the Johnny Mercer Award For Song Writing Excellence at the Songwriters Hall Of Fame Awards in New York June 18th. Michael & Van went on to perform “Real Real Gone,” their duet from Van’s latest album, ‘Duets: Re-working the Catalogue’.

Michael will join Neil Patrick Harris, Piers Morgan & Marlon Wayans to serve as guest judges on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” joining judges Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel to determine which 36 acts will move on to the live performance shows at Radio City Music Hall. The four week long Judge Cuts will premiere Tuesday, July 14 (8-10 p.m. ET) and will lead into the live performance shows beginning Tuesday, Aug. 11 (8-10 p.m.). Each week beginning Tuesday, July 14, a guest judge will join the regular panel to help decide which acts have what it takes to perform live for America’s vote.

Everyone in the Sheraton Wall Centre ballroom was expecting Calgary's Jann Arden to take the stage at a gala fundraiser for Honour House.

It's a Lower Mainland charity that provides a home away from home in New West to the families of soldiers and emergency responders needing medical treatment.

There was noticeable disappointment in the room when the host, Global BC news anchor Chris Gailus, informed the audience that Arden couldn't make it through no fault of her own. But then, the Global TV anchor said that they found a replacement: a guy who was on the SkyTrain.

Lo and behold, it was Michael Bublé, the Burnaby-raised crooner who has sold over 35 million records.
